Packing yourself. Although customer pack boxes are never covered by a moving companies insurance, you can purchase your own packing materials and fully or partially pack yourself. Home Depot is a great start. They have all of the wardrobe boxes, picture/mirror/TV boxes, bubble wrap, tape, packing paper, small boxes, medium boxes, large boxes, and extra large boxes as well as heavy duty boxes for fragile items for a few dollars more.
Mark your boxes on the top and one side as to what room they are going into at the destination for a fast transition.
You can disassemble and reassemble your own furniture. You can throw mattresses up onto the nearest wall and disassemble your beds. Bunk beds and cribs add time to your bill when we disassemble and move them.
You can disconnect and reconnect your own appliances.
Boxes are usually the first thing loaded so we can get get full passage to all of your furniture. Moving them toward the front door or garage will speed up the loading process.
Having vehicles moved out of the way upon arrival of your moving truck and holding double parking spots in front of your condo and apartment will get us closer to your front door for loading and offloading times.
Make sure your guard gates know we are coming.
Weekend traffic is less busy than week day traffic.
This is Florida, we know how to protect furniture and move in the rain. Bad weather days make for longer move times.
Watch your watch! You are in control of the time. Once we pick everything up, you can decide if it is in your budget to have us put all of the boxes and furniture in the correct room and assemble all items, or put the furniture in the rooms and leave boxes in the garage, or put everything in the garage so you can gradually bring furniture and boxes inside.
BE PREPARED ON MOVING DAY!. Allow yourself time to get everything packed before moving day if you did not pay for professional packing services. It is not the furniture that takes so much time to move but all of the loose items.
Fabric items only can stay in cabinets and dressers as long as stairs are not involved.
You can use garbage bags for bed pillows, throw pillows, comforters, stuffed animals, etc.
Reserve your elevator in advance.
